This photograph was taken on one of the coldest mornings this winter. The wind-chill was -40 F and the air temperature was -15 F. As the sun began to rise, so did the steam from theLake Michigan in Algoma, WI. If you look closely you may see faces in the steam.

My love of photography began at an early age. Okay, I'll date myself...the first camera I remember using was a Brownie! ha! I started taking photos of my family and friends first. My Dad was a very good photographer, and I enjoyed looking at his work wishing I could be as good some day. When I was 17 years old, my Dad and I were out on his sailboat on Lake Michigan and he wanted to take some pictures...well, the camera fell in the lake! After that, and another lost/and or broken camera, he finally handed me his last one and said, "Here, it's your turn, you take the pictures now."
